Overview

ProofHQ is a web application that lets you upload and share media, and provides collaborative review tools so that you can get feedback on that media.

Uploading Media

There are two basic workflows in ProofHQ:

  1. Upload media for proofing
  2. Upload media for sharing

We use the term "media" because ProofHQ lets you capture live web pages as well as upload files,

Upload media for proofing

When you upload media for proofing ProofHQ converts the file into a "web based proof" that is easily viewed in a browser.  Even very large files e.g. 150 MB will streamed quickly into the browser.

The original file is still available for sharing.

File types that can be converted to proofs are listed here.

To upload media for proofing, use the Create Proof button.

Upload media for sharing

When you upload media for sharing ProofHQ stores the file and makes it available to people for download.  Files can be converted to proofs, even if they weren't uploaded for proofing to start with.

To upload media for sharing, use the Upload Media button.

Organising Media in Workspaces

You can organise your media in workspaces. Workspaces can be "nested" so you can have workspaces inside workspaces.  This helps you organise your media in the way that most suits your workflow.

You can access workspaces from:

  • The workspaces tab on the Dashboard
  • The workspace tab on the proof (if the proof is in a workspace)

Proofs

ProofHQ makes it easy for you to distribute proofs for review and approval by one or more people.

There are two main functions in the proof page:

  • Adding comments and mark-ups
  • Making a Decision

Adding comments and mark-ups

The comment and mark-up functions let your review team provide detailed visual feedback on your document.

When a comment is made it is immediately available to other team members.

Team members can reply to each others comments, creating discussion threads to discuss and decide issues.
